Hiring a developer is easy; hiring the right one is not. Wherever you are, in Dubai, Riyadh, London, New York or Lahore, these eight questions help you choose well.
The 8 questions
- Can I see live work you built, and talk to those clients?
- Will I get a written, fixed quote before work starts?
- How is payment split, and what happens if the project is late?
- Will the domain, hosting and code be in my name?
- How often will I see the work while it is being built?
- Who exactly will work on my project?
- What support is included after launch, and what does it cost later?
- Will the site be fast, mobile-friendly and set up for Google?
Red flags
Be careful with a price that is far below everyone else's, no written scope, no live examples, or a developer who keeps the hosting and domain in their own name.
Local or remote?
Remote teams can deliver the same quality, often at a better price, as long as communication is good: regular calls, weekly demos and replies within a working day. That is how we work with clients in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the USA and Pakistan.
